Every year my mother makes a recipe for peanut butter chunks that she clipped from the Wednesday food section of The Columbus Dispatch decades ago. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without it. If she didn’t bring it to her church group’s annual holiday auction there would be a riot.
She had me helping with those many batches of peanut butter before I was even big enough to reach the pot myself. She pulled up a stool and had me stir the melted sugar while she told me what temperatures to look for on the candy thermometer.
