10 Things I As A Nutritionist Only Buy At Costco

Costco has an incredibly loyal following and I can see why. Their products are reasonably priced change regularly to match the seasons and have reliable quality. And perhaps most notably they are all available in bulk. As a family of two it doesn’t make sense for me to buy all of Costco’s products on a regular basis. However there are certain non-negotiable items that I always stock up on during my quarterly visits. Of the items I always buy at Costco the majority are Kirkland Signature. They are usually more cost effective than the other brands they offer and I often find that they taste better.

These are the Kirkland Signature products I buy every time I go to Costco and why I love them so much.

Living in Vermont there are only a few months in the summer when I’d rather use a fresh tomato than a canned one. That’s why I always have canned tomatoes in my pantry. And they actually contain more of the anti-inflammatory antioxidant lycopene than their fresh counterparts due to the heat used to preserve them. They’re an easy way to add greens to soups and stews and can be used as the base for an easy balanced meal like shakshuka (which I make almost every week). Instead of buying a few cans at a time at the grocery store I opt to pick them up at Costco. Kirkland Signature Organic Diced Tomatoes come in a pack of 8 for just $7.99 less than a dollar a can compared to over $2 a can for similar products at other stores.
