Most people say you need to build links. Most people say you need to do on-page SEO.
But where to start ?
Hi everyone, my name is Neil Patel and today I'm going to share seven free tools that will help you rank number one on Google.
Tip #1: Quick germ analyzer.
Quick Sprout is a free tool, go to quicksprout.com, enter your URL, it's a gamified SEO app, it will break down the problems and tell you how to solve them step by step.
If you don't enter the right keywords in your title tag, description, or image alt tags, Quick Sprout will tell you and Quick Sprout can publish them all for you. This will help with SEO optimization and Google ranking.
#2: Yoast SEO Plugin.
It's one of my favorite tools.
With the Yoast SEO plugin, every time you publish a blog post, it will give you a score and tell you: here's how you can optimize each of your blog posts to get the most traffic.
#3: Google Search Console.
With Google Search Console, every time you publish a new blog post or page, you have an XML sitemap.
The XML sitemap is created by the Yoast plugin which you then submit to Search Console.
Search Console shows you how many impressions you get, how many clicks you get, which pages are popular, and it even shows you which keywords are getting a lot of impressions, but not a lot of clicks.
You can then optimize your content by adding these keywords, adjusting your title tag, meta description to include these keywords, maximize your click-through rate and improve your Google rankings.
#4: Google Trends.
Google Trends shows you brand queries. This way you will know which brands are the most popular and what people are looking for.
Take the automobile industry as an example. There is General Motors and BMW.
They both have millions of dollars to spend on SEO. They both have millions of backlinks.
How does Google know which one to rank higher?
One of the factors within Google is brand queries and Google Trends will show you that BMW is searched for much more than General Motors.
So what will Google do? They will rank the most popular car manufacturer ahead of the other.
#5: responsivetest.com website
More people use Google on their mobile devices or tablets than on their desktop or laptop.
You want to make sure your website is responsive and that mobile device users can load your website extremely quickly. With this free tool, it will show you how other websites and mobile visitors view your website.
#6: Screaming frog.
Screaming Frog is a super technical SEO optimization tool.
You enter a URL and it shows you everything that's wrong, from titles and headers to keywords and links.
It analyzes everything from the super advanced technical framework.
#7: Google PageSpeed Insights.
Google PageSpeed Insights shows how fast your website loads and if it loads slowly, it's no big deal.
They make a list that shows what you need to improve for both desktop and mobile devices, so your website can load extremely quickly.
Make sure your website loads extremely quickly.
