Method 1: Recover from Google Trash

The first place you should check is the Trash folder in Google Drive. Go to Trash under My Drive, right-click on the file that was deleted. This will open a context menu with two options “Restore and Delete Forever”. To recover the file, choose the Restore option. This will return the file to its original location. The file will remain in your trash for 30 days before being automatically deleted.

Method 2: Recover Files from Windows Recycle Bin

The Google Drive desktop app will automatically sync files from specific folders you set up when setting up the program, like Desktop, Documents, and Picture on your PC. If the file is no longer available in your drive's Recycle Bin but is available in your computer's Recycle Bin, you can restore it using the following instructions.

Step 1: Open the Google Drive app and check which files are missing.

Step 2: Now open Recycle Bin on your Windows and check if any available files are missing. If it is available, you can select it and restore it to its original location.

If this method doesn't work for you, let's move on to the third solution!

Method 3: Contact Google Support to Recover Files

You can also contact Google Support to recover deleted files from Trash. Just go to the support icon and choose Help, select the “Find or recover file” option. Finally, select request file recovery and fill in the required details regarding file recovery. After a few days, you can check your Trash and recover the desired files easily.

Method 4: Restore Deleted Files Using Activity Feature

As a Google Drive user, you have the advantage of viewing your recent actions in the activity pane. After pressing the I button, you will encounter two options: details and activity. Click on the activity to see your past actions.
