Is it worth switching supermarkets now that food prices are rising?

Susan is a food travel and lifestyle journalist who also enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

The past few months have seen record high grocery prices and those high prices can certainly take a toll on our wallets when it comes to buying festive meals to share with loved ones. The question on many of our minds right now as we prepare for family and friends is should we make everything ourselves or buy pre-made? What’s more cost-effective?

To answer the question we reached out to Alyssa Pike a registered dietitian and senior manager of nutrition communications at the International Food Information Council (IFIC). We also checked out options at our local stores to compare costs.
