I'm Heidi – This site celebrates cooking and aims to help you incorporate the power of lots of vegetables and whole foods into your daily meals. Every batch of grains has its own personality so keep in mind that there are no absolutes only approximations when cooking them. Cooking times are always approximate and will vary based on how long ago a grain was harvested the size of the grains and even the characteristics of the water in your area. If you choose to use pearled grains to shorten cooking times (but still get the benefit of a semi-whole grain) the amount of pearling will also affect cooking time.
