How do you choose between a centrifugal and a juicer?

Serious Appetite / Fred Hardy II

If there’s one rule I live by it’s my three-drink rule. The first is usually water (still or sparkling) the second is coffee (hot or iced) and the third is often some sort of juice. While the first two drinks sustain life the third is just for fun. But what’s not to love? Paying someone else to juice a bunch of fruits and vegetables through a juicer and charging you $12+ for it. And maybe they’ll load it up with ginger and make you sneeze (it happens!). So if you’re a juicer you might want to consider investing in a juicer that will give you several pounds of fruits and vegetables for the price of a single fancy bottle of juice.

And while most people are familiar with citrus juicers and manual juicers here we’re focusing on electric countertop juicers that can turn whole fruits and vegetables into sweet and tangy beverages. The two most common types of this type of juicer are centrifugal and masticating but what do these scientific terms mean? And which is better for your lifestyle?
