A presentation on the need to develop inclusive, equitable and diverse teaching practices in the classroom. We will discuss the issues facing students of color in education and how to better communicate with them. The goal is for educators to view growing diversity as a dynamic opportunity to improve learning outcomes and student connectivity. Nadiyah Herron is a college instructor in communications and media studies at several Los Angeles area colleges, as well as a national online university. She has a master's degree in strategic communications, a minor in sociology, a bachelor's degree in English, and attended Pepperdine University, National University, and the University of California Riverside. She has extensive experience in the media/communications field. Nadiyah has hosted, written, guest-starred or worked in production for the following networks/media outlets: TBN, TBN Salsa, WAM, E! Entertainment Television, ABC 7 Eyewitness News, Marriage.com, Huffington Post and NBC Universal (training only).

Nadiyah is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She has been married for over a decade and values her Christian faith. Currently, Ms. Herron is working to bring her groundbreaking documentary /"We Rise/" to a screen near you! /"We Rise/" is a documentary film about the strength and resilience of the Black economy as never before told, in the shadow of structural racism, supported by legislative policy, and how it has generated clear and persistent inequalities in economic well-being. -being among black Americans, violating the fundamental principles of capitalism, a free labor market and the American dream.

Nadiyah devotes much of her time to causes involving foster youth, victims of childhood abuse and mistreatment, and issues affecting Black America and traditionally underrepresented across the world.
