Our knowledge about the brain is evolving at a rapid pace, and Dr. Lara Boyd is at the forefront of these discoveries. In 2006, she was recruited by the University of British Columbia to become the Canada Research Chair in Neurobiology and Motor Learning. Since then, she has created the Brain Behavior Lab, recruited and trained more than 40 graduate students, published more than 80 articles, and received more than $5 million in funding.

Dr. Boyd's efforts are leading to the development of new and more effective treatments for people with brain injuries, but they are also highlighting broader applications. By learning new concepts, taking advantage of opportunities, and participating in new activities, you physically change who you are and open up a world of endless possibilities.
