What's going on everyone? Leon records himself and we start again with another video!

In today's video we will talk about the USB preference disappeared or grayed out issue that I encountered with the Google Pixel line, Google Pixelbook Go, and charging sync cables.

Now, I mentioned these specifically because they are the only combination of devices that I was able to reproduce the issue with.

Specifically, the issue is only duplicated between these devices using either the included Google-branded charging sync cable or another brand like Aukey.

Interestingly enough, the cables that didn't work with these devices worked well with other Chromebooks like the Google Pixelbook and the Lenovo Duet 5 and Pixel line.

This also means that the Google Pixel 5a and the Pixel Line itself, ideally, aren't the problem here since this device has worked well with other Chromebooks.

Also worth noting is that my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 had no problem working with the Google Pixelbook Go, even with cables that didn't work before.

For reference, I'm using an 8th gen Intelcore I5 with 16GB RAM and 128 SSD.

All said, this is where community comes in handy in helping others.

If you've noticed this issue with the same or similar items, let us know in the comments below.

Also, if you've noticed this issue with another Chromebook or phone from another brand, I'd be interested to know about that as well.

So that brings us to the solution to the problem: use a different cable.

Cable brands that have resolved this issue between the Google Pixelbook Go and Pixel Line include Amazon Basics brand and Anker.

If you found a cable from another brand that also caused no issues, please let us know in the comments below as well.

To me, the Amazon branded cable is the more laughable of the two, because Amazon is a competitor to Google in many areas and their cable solves a Google hardware problem.

Following this video, I will demonstrate the problem to those who have not seen it.

I will also demonstrate the solution using Amazon branded USB-C to USB-C cables in 2.0 and 3.1 specifications.

I like these cables because they work well and come at a good price.

That being said, I will place them in the description below.

As always, we only offer products or services that I purchase, use, or are interested in.
