Backup Your iPhone (or iPad) to External Hard Drive [No 3D Party Software] – Step by Step

Although iTunes does not offer you the option to backup your iPhone or iPad to an external hard drive, in this video I will show you how to trick iTunes into automatically storing the backup on the external hard drive.

We recommend getting an external drive that has enough space for iTunes to perform the backup. For example, if you have a 256GB iPhone that only takes up 40GB, having 80GB of free space would definitely work.
