Baked Ahi Tuna Recipe
After finishing my studies in the late 1980s I studied martial arts for a year at Kyoto University in Japan.
The school cafeteria served many dishes you'd never find in the United States (natto spaghetti for example) but there was one dish I couldn't get enough of: seared tuna prepared fresh to order.
It was usually served with white rice a bit of shoyu some radish sprouts a few slivers of nori and some toasted sesame seeds. A large portion might cost 200 yen (~$2) but I think it was probably less.
