If you’re a fan of our banana bread you’re going to love this because it’s based on that recipe. As easy as that is to make it’s even easier. I really think this threads the needle between something that tastes like banana bread but is very close to the texture of a classic pancake. Top with butter and banana slices and serve with warm maple syrup.

Banana Bread Pancakes – Food Wishes
Our banana bread is one of the most popular and highly rated videos I have ever posted. When I got the idea to make banana bread pancakes I decided to use that delicious bread as a base recipe. Of course you can’t just dilute a bread recipe like that with more liquid and expect perfect pancakes. I began what I thought would be a long series of experiments that would eventually lead to the perfect formula.
So you can imagine my shock when I got it right on the first try. As they say it’s better to be lucky than good. I didn’t want banana pancakes nor did I want fried banana bread dough. I wanted a perfect hybrid of both — and that’s pretty much what happened here.
The hardest decision was whether to add the finely chopped dark chocolate to the batter the secret ingredient that I think makes our banana bread so irresistible. It also makes it richer and a little more dessert-like. So I went with more savory since we are making breakfast after all. But feel free to add some if you want. It should work well. Really well.
