These nine apps are great options for your writing and publishing workflow. I've tried to reflect the applications I currently use as part of my workflow: note-taking, tracing, word processing, novel writing software, book production, and image manipulation. These are some of the best free writing software for writers. There are many free programs out there, so I'm sharing my favorites and some of the basic features.
