Homemade marzipan
Simple Recipes / Mark Beahm
Marzipan is a soft sweet paste made from almonds and sugar. It can be eaten on its own usually shaped into small fruits or cute animals or used as a filling or topping for cakes and pastries. It is full of sweet amaretto flavor and is irresistible.
Marzipan is often bought ready-made but sometimes marzipan can be hard to find in the supermarket or some brands contain ingredients or additives that you want to avoid. It turns out that making marzipan at home is actually incredibly easy and quick. It only takes about 5 minutes and a few ingredients that you probably already have on hand: almond flour icing sugar and almond extract.
