Officer Luna was on a mission with the New York National Guard UH-72 Lakota helicopter as part of Joint Task Force North when the aircraft crashed near the Rio Grande River near La Grulla . This catastrophic event also claimed the lives of Chief Warrant Officers Casey Frankoski and John Grassia, marking a profound loss for both the Border Patrol and the National Guard. Officer Luna, remembered for his dedication and service, leaves behind a legacy of courage, survived by a loving wife, two children and a brother. His sacrifice, along with that of his fellow soldiers, highlights the risks faced by those who protect our borders and the nation.
