This Cardamom Kissed Brown Sugar Breaded Pumpkin Batter Spice Cake was a near failure. My oven has been on the decline for months now. It’s always been a little slow to come out of the oven and takes a long time to heat up but I generally didn’t mind. Troublesome oven end of story. Lately however it’s been taking almost an hour to reach 350F. And then there were the times it would shut down. Poof. Like it was done baking for the day. And the times it would have to belch gas. Exactly the kind of thing that makes me panic. Anyway I stood there and promised to call the repair shop if he could finish this last unremarkable cake without any problems. And he did. And the cake was nearly perfect. As promised they called replaced a part and now it reaches 350F in less than ten minutes.
