Chef Cat De Orio Makes Thanksgiving Side Dishes Dessert Trends
We used Google Trends to find out what the most popular side dishes and desserts are in each Canadian province. To do that we analyzed the popularity of Canadian Thanksgiving dishes based on the number of searches performed around Thanksgiving last year (the 5-day period from October 8 to October 12 2020).
Around Thanksgiving literally hundreds of thousands of Canadians turn to Google to find their favorite pumpkin pie recipe the tastiest gravy or the best Brussels sprouts recipe. The sheer volume of searches gives a good idea of the locals’ favorite foods.
Since no traditional Thanksgiving dinner is complete without turkey the same goes for stuffing. Stuffing really has no equal when it comes to side dish popularity but since it kind of goes hand in hand with turkey we made the controversial decision to leave it out of our analysis.
