Homemade fish stock makes this healthy soup so delicious. I loved this dish growing up in the Caribbean. To my surprise it also makes a great warming drink. Long story short: While waiting for the bus on a freezing cold and windy winter night in NYC I saw a West Indian restaurant across the street. I ran in to get a cup of coffee or tea—the last thing on my mind was a bowl of soup. They were closing soon and all they had was fish soup. I grabbed a small cup and headed back to the bus stop. It warmed me up and hit such a sweet spot in me that I ran back for more.
