Carla Hall is a chef and television personality best known for her appearances on Top Chef and co-hosting the Emmy Award-winning talk show The Chew. Carla began her career as an accountant then transitioned into modeling and eventually realized on the runways of Paris that she wanted to dedicate her life to food. She was a sous chef at the Henley Park Hotel and executive chef at the Garden Café at the State Plaza Hotel and at the Washington Club after which she started a catering company before launching her television career on the fifth season of Top Chef. She has also appeared as a contestant on Top Chef: All-Stars as a judge on cooking competitions including Halloween Baking Championships and Best Baker in America and as a guest on Good Morning America Antiques Roadshow BoJack Horseman Sesame Street among others. Carla's books include Cooking with Love Carla Hall's Soul Food and the children's book Carla and the Christmas Cornbread and her work has been featured in Food & Wine Southern Living The Kitchn Better Homes & Gardens and more. Carla has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award and has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Les Dames d'Escoffier. She is also the culinary ambassador for Sweet Home Café at the Smithsonian National Museum for African American History and Culture.
