I may not be excited about the end of summer but I am glad it’s finally cold enough to fire up the oven and make cast iron pizza! Jack and I have been making regular homemade pizza for years but this spring this cast iron pizza recipe took our pizza game to a whole new level. It’s the closest you’ll ever get to making restaurant-style pizza without a fancy oven or pizza stone. The hot pan helps the crust crisp and brown on the outside while the thick edges stay nice and chewy in the middle.

We made this cast iron pizza recipe like crazy in the spring and I can’t wait to make it again this fall. Lately I’ve been obsessed with a bold combination of toppings for late summer: pesto roasted red peppers and tomatoes fresh basil red onion salty artichokes and spicy plant-based sausage.
