Change MAC Address in Linux by Disabling Network Device

Now that you have noted the name of your network interface, you must first disable the device's connection to the network to change its MAC address in Linux. Disable the device using the following command:
sudo ifconfig interface_name down

When you run this command, you will be disconnected from the Internet. If the above command does not work on your system, you can either reinstall the net-tools package or use the following command:
sudo ip link sets the dev interface name down
