An Active Directory server can be a great addition to your lab environment. It can provide centralized user, group, DNS, CA, and DHCP services. Although many don't "need" them in a "LAB" environment, it's still a good experience to use enterprise types of tools when setting up a lab environment . Unfortunately, not everyone has the funds to obtain Microsoft licenses. So this video introduces Zentyal Development Edition by walking you through a basic installation and configuration. At the end of this 20 minute video, we will have an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Linux server configured to provide the following features:
– Active Directory (AD) domain controller
– – AD test groups
— AD Test Users
– DNS server
– Certification Authority

I also show how to install a custom private CA (certificate authority) certificate in the Chromium browser on my Fedora 35 KDE virtual machine.
