Creating a Windows 11 Virtual Machine in VMware Workstation Player 17 – Updated Method

The new VMware Workstation Pro and Player are now available and have improved support for Windows 11. The new VM creation wizard will detect the operating system in the ISO file and also allow you to add TPM, encrypt the virtual machine and create an encryption password in one step. You can even have the Player remember the encryption password so you don't have to enter it every time you open the Player.

If you want to do a custom install of Windows 11 with an ISO that bypasses the TPM check, simply choose I'll install the OS later and you can then mount your Win 11 ISO file so it doesn't read it as Windows 11. and try adding TPM and encryption.
