Gochujang is a red chili pepper sauce that’s spicy savory and slightly sweet. It’s popular in Korean cuisine and is traditionally fermented to develop flavors but there are ways to make it easier (and faster) — which is exactly what we’re all about you know. Here we’re using it with other ingredients to coat crispy fried tofu!

For the crispiest crispy tofu we start with super firm (protein-rich!) tofu and crumble it into bite-sized pieces with serrated edges. Then we brush them with oil and fry them until golden brown and slightly firm!
