I'm Heidi – This site celebrates cooking and aims to help you incorporate the power of lots of vegetables and whole foods into your daily meals. The recipes you'll find here are vegetarian often vegan and written with the home cook in mind. This site has been my online "home base" for almost twenty years. It was originally built on the premise that once you own over 100 cookbooks (raise your hand!) it's time to stop buying and start cooking. This site chronicles a cookbook collection one (vegetarian) recipe at a time. But there's more to the story now that we're a few decades into it here's a little background on me and the site…

Happy Holidays everyone! I put together this culinary gift guide to help you shop for the cooks in your family. All of the items are things I’ve used (and loved!) in my own kitchen or are made by producers I know and love—with a few wild cards thrown in for fun. I’ve tried to keep the selection focused on handmade and small business items. Enjoy! Small Citrus Trees ($32-$54) – Four Winds Growers // I have a collection of container-planted citrus (most purchased from Four Winds Growers) on our patio. It’s amazing to watch them change and grow throughout the year. The fruit doesn’t matter the smell of the blossoms is my favorite thing about them. My collection includes chinotto rangpur lime market lime moro blood kishu mandarin and a few others. They also sell non-citrus trees.
