Dark and Stormy Rum Cocktail Recipe
It was a dark and stormy night… and so begins the sailor's tale whether it involves vengeful spirits or monstrous whales. Hence the aptly named "Dark 'n' Stormy" cocktail a favorite of sailors sailing from Bermuda to the coast of the eastern states.
A Dark and Stormy is made with rum and ginger beer and maybe a squeeze of lime. But it can't be just any rum. Dark rum is a necessity and if you want to make it right it has to be Gosling's black rum.
The rum is often served floating which mimics a stormy sky. The first thing a seasoned Dark and Stormy drinker will do however is stir it. It is also officially served in a highball glass but for those of us who enjoy the drink any glass will do.
