Egyptian Dukkah – Healthy Nut and Spice Mix

Dukkah the Middle Eastern spice mix comes in many forms. Recipes can include any number of combinations of seeds nuts spices and herbs. This one closely resembles a version common in Egypt often considered the birthplace of dukkah. It’s filled with toasted sesame seeds ground peanuts cumin and coriander seeds plus enough salt to make all the flavors come together and pop. It can be used a million different ways. Try it on soups sprinkled over roasted and grilled vegetables topping fish and meat dishes mixed with olive oil for a quick and easy dip and more. Note that you can choose how finely you want to grind all of the ingredients; some people like a coarser version others a finer version though it’s rare to see dukkah ground so finely that it’s completely powdery.

3 tablespoons (15 grams) whole coriander seeds
