There are certain dates that just seem to have some kind of cosmic significance. For Doc Brown that date might be November 12 1955. For me it might be November 22 2012. Not only was that the day I discovered the best jerk chicken ever behind a strip club in Detroit it was also the day I bought myself the Martin mini-guitar that has become my constant traveling companion and the day I tried chicken enchilada soup for the first time.
The latter we got at Le Dog a bright red shack in downtown Ann Arbor that served hot dogs and homemade soups. Back then the menu changed daily and the stand served over 400 different soups each year. So it was really a matter of luck that I got to try this particular soup on that particular day and the chances of me ever having it at Le Dog again are almost zero.* The shack has since moved from its outdoor location to an indoor location on Main Street though I believe they still serve the same variety of soups.
