How to Steam an Artichoke – The Basics on QVC
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Cut the stems off the artichokes and discard. Make sure the bottom of each artichoke is flat. Cut off the top 1 inch (or so) of the artichoke and discard. Using kitchen scissors trim the prickly ends off each artichoke leaf.
Fill the bottom of a saucepan with a few inches of water and add the garlic lemon juice and bay leaf to the water. Place a steamer basket in the saucepan making sure the water does not overflow the bottom of the steamer basket.
