I'm Heidi – This site celebrates cooking and aims to help you incorporate the power of lots of vegetables and whole foods into your daily meals. The recipes you'll find here are vegetarian often vegan and written with the home cook in mind. This site has been my online "home base" for almost twenty years. It was originally built on the premise that once you own over 100 cookbooks (raise your hand!) it's time to stop buying and start cooking. This site chronicles a cookbook collection one (vegetarian) recipe at a time. But there's more to the story now that we're a few decades into it here's a little background on me and the site…

Andrea and I have been friends for a few years now. She writes inspiring articles about people and their deep connections to food. And she writes books that dive deep into the subject matter but remain delightfully accessible. To be honest I was a little intimidated when I first met her. But that feeling didn’t last long. She’s lighthearted has an easy smile and a sense of humor that got me thinking. She’s open to anything in the culinary field. We recently went to a friend’s house for drinks and she came in with jars of homemade Maraschino cherries one jar made with one technique the other with a different approach—an impromptu tasting ensued. Not long after I saw on her site that she was reverse engineering her own Sriracha chili sauce (!). I don’t see her as often as I’d like and I regret not living closer.
