How to make a FRENCH MARTINI Cocktail. Original vs. Lighter Version

Beginning in the mid-1990s the French Martini began appearing on cocktail menus around the world and has become an essential cocktail in the modern craze for drinks loosely inspired by the original martini albeit sometimes only in glassware. It has remained a favorite for so long because its flavors are so appealing to everyone and it is quite simply the ideal fruity vodka martini.

Despite its name this cocktail originated in the United States. The French Chambord of the drink is what gives the cocktail its name as Chambord a black raspberry liqueur produced in France is the key to its preparation. This martini also launched Chambord into the upper echelons of popular top liqueurs and for that reason it has been wrongly attributed to the brand’s marketing department for many reasons.

There’s no big secret to making a great French Martini at home. Simply choose a premium vodka grab a bottle of Chambord and grab the freshest pineapple juice you can find. Shake the trio together and you’ve got a cocktail with an exciting mix of fruit flavors and a delicious top layer. When the pineapple juice is shaken it naturally creates a foam that floats on top of the French Martini.
