How to make the best hummus of your life?
I remember the first time I heard about hummus. I went to my super trendy hairstylist at the time sometime in 2007 and she started telling me that all the "cool restaurants" now serve hummus as an appetizer.
Hummus. I was intrigued. So I ventured out and found a nearby Mediterranean restaurant and dove into my first bite of the creamy garlic dip I now love. It was love at first sight. There’s no going back. You can learn more about hummus and its origins here.
For this recipe I didn’t have tahini on hand but I DID have sesame seeds! So I toasted them put them in the food processor with a little grapeseed oil and voila! I had tahini on my hands! Just like store bought but WAY better and creamier! You should try it – it’s way cheaper and super easy. Read more about tahini and how to make it here.
