Germany and Japan are 'grayed out' in Football Manager, so you cannot choose them for any part of the 2022 World Cup….
But wait! There is a FIX to enable REAL PLAYERS for these teams.
Locate the following folder:
(Windows/Steam) C://Program Files (x86)//Steam//steamapps//common//Football Manager 2023//data//database//db//2300//lnc//all
(Mac/Steam) [username] / library / Application support / Steam / steamapps / common / football manager 2023 / data / db / 2300 / lnc / all
And delete the following files:
fake.lnc
lic_dan_swe_fra.lnc
nleague.lnc
Then start a new game. Choose /"Choose a team later/" and /"Advanced settings/"
You can then choose Germany or Japan as your team.
Or even if you choose another team, you will find the real players from Germany and Japan at the World Cup!
