Ginger Lemon Tahini Sauce | Minimalist Baking Recipes

Inspired by one of our favorite dishes at Prasad (a dreamy cafe in Portland OR) this one-bowl tahini sauce which you can make in 5 minutes with just 5 ingredients does just that!

Tahini is made by grinding sesame seeds into a smooth paste. Sometimes the sesame seeds are hulled sometimes they are left unhulled; sometimes they are roasted sometimes raw.

Tahini is an Arabic name for ground sesame seeds. However its origins are believed to lie in Persia where it was called "ardeh". Tahini later found its way to other countries and was considered a delicacy as sesame seeds were quite expensive to obtain. In some cultures tahini was even used as currency. (source)
