So far this is the best thing I have come up with for waffles. They get a nice crispy outside in my waffle iron that I love. Note: you have to like buckwheat to like these. It is pretty awesome to use half cream and half milk if you don't mind the extra fat/calories. You can substitute applesauce for the oil if you prefer.
