We speak with one of more than 650 workers calling on Google's parent company, Alphabet, to protect the location and browsing history of people searching for information about abortion. A petition led by Alphabet's workers' union also calls on the company to block ads that deceptively direct users to crisis pregnancy centers, a tactic used by anti-abortion activists to encourage patients to discourage them from resorting to abortion. /"Systems like Google, which know everything about you, can now be used against you," says Alejandra Beatty, technical program manager at Verily, Alphabet's healthcare subsidiary, and head of the Southwest section of the Alphabet workers union.
