Google introduces voice and video calling features to the Gmail app

Google announced that it has added the ability to join one-on-one Google Chat voice and video calls from within the Gmail app. According to MacRumors, it was possible to make calls from the Gmail app on iOS and Android. But users had to send an invitation to a Google Meet video conference call, which was more complicated and restrictive.
