I've had Google Password Manager reviewed to determine if it's safe and worth using!

How good is Google Password Manager?
Google PM offers end-to-end encryption. However, there is a worrying lack of transparency. It doesn't even say what type of encryption it uses, all we know is that it does. But what I don't like the most is that Google collects user information. Of course, this is a well-known fact, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable. I can say the exact same thing about the features: there are only a few.
Overall, it's a very simplistic password manager that barely covers the basics. The only real advantage is that it is completely free and is already present on the Chrome browser. To be honest, I can only recommend it to complete beginners until you decide which password manager you want to get.

NordPass
Let's compare NordPass VS Google Password Manager. NordPass uses modern XChaCha20 encryption. To ensure privacy, NordPass uses a zero-knowledge architecture that has passed an independent audit. So yes, much more transparency and a higher level of security than Google Password Manager. Plus, it has many additional features!

Guardian and 1Password
Besides NordPass, I have 2 other top recommendations over Google Password Manager. These are Keeper, which offers many additional features, and 1Password, which offers the best family plan, while Google does not offer any at all. Additionally, both meet all the fundamental requirements for creating a secure and transparent password manager. Of course, this includes end-to-end encryption. In fact, Keeper and 1Password use the same industry standard encryption. Additionally, Keeper and 1Password have zero-knowledge architectures.

Final thoughts ️
Yes, Google Password Manager is free and it's always better than nothing! So if all you need is to generate strong passwords and store them in a browser, you'll be fine. But for anyone who values their security and privacy on the internet, any of the 3 premium options I reviewed would be a huge improvement.
