Sometimes a quick gesture is easier than switching sockets just to press a hardware button.
So, being able to double tap the status bar to lock this Google Pixel 8, here is a feature that I sorely miss in custom ROMs.

But I don't have any custom ROM installed on this phone here, but I can still lock the device with this double tap gesture.
This is because I installed an LSPosed module called PixelXpert.

And today I'm going to show you how to turn off the screen and lock it with a simple double tap.

Now, for this double-click gesture to work, we first need to install an LSPosed module called PixelXpert.
This is something I've already made a dedicated video about. So, in an attempt to keep this video from being longer than it needs to be, I'm just going to link to this guide in the video description below.

Once this module is set up and running, come back here so I can show you where to find the functionality.

We can find this toggle by first opening the PixelXpert app
Then tap on the Status Bar option.
And from there you should see a toggle up labeled Double-Tap to Sleep.

This will enable or disable the feature. . .so it can be disabled if you are not a fan of how it works.

But once enabled, all we have to do is double tap on the status bar and you will see the screen go dark as it locks the Google Pixel 8 which I have here and then puts it in day before.

This can be done anywhere in the operating system.
So we can double tap the status bar from the home screen
From any app
And while we play a game too.

As long as you can visibly see the status bar
We can double tap it to lock the device without needing to switch handles to press the power button.
