Have any of you ever made a sauce with green olives? Me neither. Until now. I had a big container of pitted herb-dusted green olives. And I mean a really big container. I don’t know what I was thinking. I think I bought them with the intention of using them as part of a dinner party for friends. Then I promptly forgot they existed. I found them the next morning hiding behind a container of feta. And so begins olive season on Pierce Street. You can imagine my excitement when I came across a recipe I had tagged months ago in Maggie Beer’s book Maggie’s Harvest . She makes green olive gnocchi and then tosses them into a quirky lightly creamy green olive sauce. The perfect way to replenish my olive supply.
