I recently went on an olive oil tour in Turkey and was pleasantly surprised by what I found: liquid gold that rivaled its Mediterranean counterparts. I loaded my suitcase with all the bottles of herbs and Aegean sea salt I could fit in it.
Long after I got home the meals I had eaten haunted me. They were all so fresh and vibrant. I can’t help but think of Turkey when I think of spring. From silky raw sea urchin with nothing more than a squeeze of lemon and a pinch of black pepper to crisp salads and vibrant fish stews it was an epic adventure.
