Okra is an easy vegetable to grill and the high heat brings out its best qualities. Grilled okra is smoky delicious and tender but not slimy. Serve it as a side dish as is or with a dipping sauce.

My Favorite Way to Cook OKRA | NO Slime – No Batter – No Fried
Simple Recipes / Mike Lang
Growing up my grandfather grew rows of okra in his bountiful garden and gave my mother and me bags of it at harvest time. I loved the stuff and looked forward to it year after year a bright spot in the dreary late summer months. After he passed away I discovered that he didn’t like okra at all. He grew it especially for me.
I’m from Tennessee where fried okra reigns supreme. Although I inhaled the fried treats as a child (I still love fried okra the way my grandma made it tossed in cornmeal and quickly fried) my love has evolved. Okra isn’t just for frying; it’s arguably even better grilled.
