This is the perfect summer bread. The grill gives it such a wonderful flavor. We make this with steaks but also with grilled chicken and salads. It is so delicious and so easy. I have to make 2 loaves because it is a favorite. I have experimented with the recipe and added all sorts of spices but I have found that good old salt and pepper has the best flavor; who would have thought! Don't worry about getting too much butter on the bread; when the bread comes warm off the grill the butter will melt into it. We only eat wheat bread but white bread would be fine too.
