On iPhone or iPad:
Open the Notes app: Tap the Notes app icon on your iPhone or iPad to open it.

Select a note: Choose an existing note from your list or create a new one by tapping the New Note button, usually located in the lower right corner.

Highlight text: Touch and hold the word you want to underline. Drag the handles to adjust your selection as needed.

Apply underlined formatting:

A menu will appear above the selected text. Press the /"BIU/" button.
From the drop-down menu, choose /"Underlined/".
Type underline: If you want to start typing by underlining, place the cursor where you want to type, press the /"BIU/" button and select /"Underline/". Now start typing and your text will be underlined.

Save your note: The Notes app automatically saves your changes as you make them.

On a Mac:
Open the Notes app: Click the Notes app in your Dock or use Spotlight (command spacebar) to find and open it.

Select a note: Open an existing note or create a new one by clicking the /"New Note/" button, usually located in the lower right corner of the Notes application window.

Highlight text: Click and drag your mouse over the text you want to underline.

Apply underlined formatting:

Using the menu: Click /"Format/" in the menu bar at the top of the screen, then choose /"Font/" /"Underline/".
Using a keyboard shortcut: Simply press Command U on your keyboard.

Autosave: The Notes app on Mac automatically saves your changes.

Additional Tips:
Other formatting options: In addition to underlining, you can also make text bold or italic in the Notes app by following similar steps.
Combining formats: You can combine underlining with other formatting options like bold or italics for added emphasis.
Use across devices: If you use iCloud, your notes (including formatting) will sync across all your Apple devices, allowing you to access and edit them from anywhere.
Regular updates: Apple updates its apps and operating systems frequently, so it's always good to stay informed about new features and text formatting improvements.
By following these steps, you can easily underline the text in your notes, which can be particularly useful for highlighting key points or organizing your notes more effectively.
