Emojis. We use them, we love them, we can't get enough of them.

But did you know that there are several emojis that men hate? I'll tell you which emojis to avoid at all costs in just a minute. Plus, stick around to discover a secret emoji that can ruin a conversation without you knowing.

Hi, my name is Amy North. I'm a texting expert and relationship coach from Canada and I'm here with your emoji update.

Like it or not, emojis are part of texting in 2019. And that means the emojis you use can make or break your dating game. Don't be afraid to move a guy you like. A match.com survey found that 54% of emoji users fuck, compared to 31% who don't.

Today I'm going to give you three emojis that men hate, three that they love, and one secret emoji that almost no one knows and can kill a conversation without you even knowing why!

without further ado: according to a study by Plenty of Fish, here are three emojis that men don't like:

You can imagine why. Eggplant and peach now represent certain body parts, so if you use them you might give him the wrong idea. Save them for sexting. Plus, they're cheesy and over-the-top like the fire emoji – totally played up. Unless you're texting him about his mixtape, leave the fire alone.

I also tell girls to avoid heart emoji from the start. Depending on how you use it, it can be a bit intense. It's not the same as saying "I love you," but it's closer to that than we want. You could just throw it for fun, but it might not feel the same.

It's AttractionTexts.com…and I promise you, your man will swoon just reading these text messages.

So let's move on to the emojis that guys like:

And there you have it, pretty classic stuff. Heart eyes: you are beautiful. Kiss face: you're nice, and the old guy stays there: wink face. Make sure to use them strategically, but honestly, you can't really go wrong with these three. Make them part of your regular flirting routine and he'll be off your phone and into your arms before you know it.

My big secret about emojis is something you've probably never thought about. I had no idea until someone told me and it made me wonder how many people make the same mistake and ruin a conversation through no fault of their own. It's pretty crazy.

Look at this emoji. A rather happy little guy. He seems interested in what you are saying, polite and hopeful for the future. But he has a secret. This is a Samsung emoji. When you send it to an iPhone it looks like this:

That's right. So imagine this scenario. You text a guy and he says "let's go to dinner Friday" and you say "That's a great idea." You continue with what you think is basically a happy face, but what he gets is this, making him think you consider him worse than trash. And you have no idea!

It also works both ways. Let's say you text him "I'm at work and my ex is here" and he has a Samsung. Suddenly it sounds like you're telling him you're excited to see your ex. This is dangerous territory.

See that emojis are different depending on who makes your phone. Usually these differences don't matter, but for a few, they decided to really flip the script. So if you have these green bubbles, make sure that what he sees is the same thing that you send.

Bonus emoji tips: Forget angry emojis. Unless it's very clear that you're making a joke, avoid it. If you're angry, don't express it with a cute cartoon face. If something really upsets you, talk about it in person. Or just use caps lock and five hundred exclamation points.

So this is it. The ins and outs of emojis. Remember which ones to avoid and which ones to use and you will be fine. Thank you for watching. Don't forget to leave your favorite emoji in the comments below. Speak soon!
