For us DIYers this is an easy way to make creamy smooth yogurt at home! It tastes AMAZING and it works! It’s tastier and cheaper than store-bought yogurt. When you read it you might think it’s too complicated… but basically you just leave it in the warm water and check the temperature every now and then. It basically does its own thing – a bit like letting bread dough rise. I use the time to do other things around the house. Don’t be put off – it really is very easy.

Stop Buying Yogurt! Make Your Own Yogurt With Two Ingredients

¼ cup dry milk powder

3 tablespoons plain yogurt with active cultures

Place a large pot on the stove and place 5 sterile half-pint canning jars inside. Fill with enough water to cover the jars up to their necks. Turn the burner to low. The goal is to maintain a steady temperature between 110 degrees F and 115 degrees F (45 degrees C) for 4 to 6 hours. Check the temperature frequently with a candy or meat thermometer.
