If, like me, you use Google Docs and Google Sheets regularly, it's often convenient to have a direct link to a sheet or document on the home screen of your iPhone or iPad. Here you can see a link to my productivity sheet where I keep track of how often I exercise and create these videos. To set this up, you need to install the Google Sheets or Docs app and then find the sheet or document you want to link to. Tap the three-dot menu icon, then tap Copy Link from the options. Next, we want to go to the Shortcuts app, so I'm going to pull out of Google Sheets and open Shortcuts. If you get to this screen, choose All Shortcuts, then click the plus icon to create a new shortcut. Tap Add Action and you should see this web category right here. Choose Open URLs, and then we want to paste our link that we just copied from Google Docs or Sheets into the URL field here. So. After pasting the link, tap the little drop-down arrow to give your shortcut a name. Since I'm linking to my productivity sheet, I'll call my shortcut Productivity. Tap Done to save the new name, then tap the drop-down arrow again. Here you can either just add your home shortcut by tapping here, or you can change the name I like to customize my home screen icon as well. So I'm going to replace it with this, change the color, and then hit Done to save the change. I can now press the drop-down arrow again to add my shortcut to my home screen. Click Add and here we are. Here is my link to my Google Sheet and if I tap on it it will take me directly to my spreadsheet and I can edit it on the fly.

Please take the opportunity to connect and share this video with your friends and family if you find it useful.
