In this video, an Apple expert shows you how to add an emergency contact on an iPhone. To do this, open the Health app and tap Medical ID. If you haven't set up your Medical ID yet, simply tap Create Medical ID. If you've already created a medical ID, tap Edit.

To add an emergency contact on iPhone, scroll down and tap the green plus button next to the emergency contact. Select the person you want to make emergency contact with when your contact list appears. Note that you can only add a number as an emergency contact if it is already saved on your iPhone as a regular contact. Tap this contact's relationship to you.

Now this contact appears on your medical ID card as an emergency contact. Now that you've added an emergency contact to your iPhone, a new slider will appear when you activate Emergency SOS, an iOS 11 feature, by quickly pressing the power button 5 times in a row.
