In this quick tech video, I'll show you how to invite and add friends to your Apple Watch Activity and Fitness app.
We will consider doing this in two different ways. The first is to invite them on the Apple Watch itself, then we will do it on the iPhone in the Fitness app.
Adding friends is a fun way to hold each other accountable or participate in fitness challenges.
We'll start with the Apple Watch. On your watch, tap the fitness rings icon.
Then, on the main activity screen. Swipe right to the share page. Here you will see everyone you are currently sharing with. Scroll to the bottom and tap invite a friend.
At this point, your contacts will appear. Scroll down and choose the person you want to share with. They will then receive a sharing request that they can approve, and when they are finished, you will both appear on your sharing page. You can then track and see your friends' performance on their activity rings.
The next way to invite a friend is to use the Fitness app on your iPhone. Open Fitness and you will be on the summary page.
At the bottom, tap Sharing. You will again see everyone you are currently sharing with. Tap the plus sign at the top right of the page.
Then, tap the plus sign again at the top of this page. You can then search for users or choose from the suggestions below.
Once your friend receives the request, they can approve it and you both will share it.
And that's how you invite and add friends to your Apple Watch Activity and Fitness app.
